Research has shown that financial literacy has only slightly increased
The Croatian National Bank (HNB) and the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) once again conducted a survey on financial literacy in HR this year.
Croatian National Bank (HNB) and Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) and this year they conducted research called “Measuring financial literacy and financial inclusion in Croatia“. In this way, year after year, both institutions systematically monitor the trends of citizens' general and digital financial literacy, their financial involvement, and their attitudes, behaviors and knowledge about financial matters.
Although the research indicated a direct connection between the degree of financial education of citizens and their responsible attitude towards money, it is a devastating fact that compared to 2019, the population's financial literacy recorded only a slight increase.
This research result is especially worrying if you take into account all the financial changes and challenges we have faced in the last four years during the economically turbulent period of the pandemic, rising inflation, as well as the introduction of a new currency – the euro, at the beginning of this year.
