We are partners in the ESF project "Start Point", worth over HRK 1 million in total
The START POINT project strengthens the capacities of civil society organizations to support effective resocialization and reintegration of criminals into society.

Through participation in the START POINT project, a minimum of 7 ex-convicts will be accommodated in a "halfway house", while a total of 15 ex-convicts who will participate in the project will be provided through education, additional training, participation in workshops within the project, participation in to a program specially designed for them, improve social inclusion, develop self-confidence, strengthen work and intellectual skills, all with the final result of effective resocialization and reintegration of offenders into society.
With its multidisciplinary approach and a wide network of services and activities, the START POINT project eliminates the recognized difficulties of target groups, which are directly threatened by social exclusion because they have nowhere to return and often relapse. The backbone of the project is to provide them with a safe, open place from which they can more easily join the social community. The PET PLUS Association and the Pula Institute will strengthen their capacities through education in three newly developed programs. The programs will be developed by external experts under the mentorship of partners of the Callidus institution.
The programs will include the necessary skills needed for communication and work with perpetrators of criminal offenses and a mentoring program for working with ex-convicts. After the education, the PET PLUS Association and the Pula Institute will conduct psychosocial empowerment through groups, during this process the users who continuously arrive in search of help, support and solutions for basic needs will be motivated.
Special objectives of the project:
- Strengthening the competences of CSOs to support resocialization and reintegration of perpetrators of criminal offenses into the social community.
- Post-criminal acceptance and empowerment of perpetrators of criminal offenses for resocialization and reintegration into the social community.
The project is financed by the Office for NGOs of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, and is co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund. The total value of the project is HRK 1,169,140.66, and the project lasts 18 months.
