From May 15 to June 9, a series of one-day training sessions were held for 35 teachers from 5 different schools on the topic of democratic way of thinking and its incorporation into teaching and extracurricular activities in elementary schools.
The initiative was implemented with the aim of encouraging the understanding and implementation of democratic principles and attitudes among teachers and, consequently, among children of primary school age.
The trainings were organized in cooperation with Ivo Kozarčanin Elementary School, Kistanje Elementary School, Ante Kovačića Elementary School, Zlatar Bistrica Elementary School and Krapinske Toplice Elementary School, and were conducted by experts with extensive experience in the field of education and democratic engagement from the partner organization FC Adria Solutions doo
During the training, teachers had the opportunity to participate in lectures and interactive group discussions. The focus of the training was on empowering teachers to understand and apply democratic values in various aspects of school life. The teachers were familiar with teaching methods that encourage critical thinking, active listening, cooperation and respect for different opinions among students.
It is expected that the positive results of these educations will have long-term effects on school communities, and will contribute to the construction of a society that promotes democratic values, equality and respect for diversity.
The project is financed from the EEA financial mechanism for the period from 2014 to 2021.
