Through education, we help positive changes in society
We held training sessions for employees of "halfway houses", institutions that will help resocialize and reintegrate ex-criminals into society

As part of the StartPoint project, from 20.01. until 31.01. in the premises of Callidus, an employee empowerment training was held for the purpose of managing the "halfway house", which was attended by 6 members of the project holder, 2 members of the partner CSO and 2 members of the CSO associate of the Pet plus Association. Association PET PLUS is the project holder START POINT which is co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund and the Office for Associations of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
The education was carried out in 80 teaching hours over 10 working days, and the goal of the education was to include the necessary skills needed for communication and work with the perpetrators of criminal acts who will be housed in that house. Through education, additional training and participation in workshops, they will strive to develop social inclusion, raise self-confidence, strengthen work and intellectual skills, all with the aim of effective resocialization and reintegration into the social community.
With its multidisciplinary approach and a wide network of services and activities, the project eliminates the recognized difficulties of offenders after serving their sentence, who are at high risk of social exclusion due to the fact that they have nowhere to return to after serving their sentence, and in the absence of support, they often relapse. The project is based on organizing "halfway houses", the house will provide accommodation for a minimum of 7 ex-convicts and offer a complete program of stabilization, psychosocial empowerment by working with experts, the possibility of additional education and training at various workshops, information on their rights and opportunities and a form of mentoring as a help in seeking employment.
