We encourage young people's awareness of environmental challenges

We develop the knowledge and awareness of young people about ecology so that they are ready to get involved in the development and progress of the community

Potičemo svijest mladih ljudi o ekološkim izazovima

As part of the Erasmus+ BEST project, we held an "Eco-system mapping" workshop in Maksimir Park, through which we presented the "Head, hands and heart" model, which refers to a comprehensive approach to solving the problem of climate change. This method includes three aspects: understanding the problem of climate change (head), action or practical steps towards reducing negative impacts (hands), and engagement and motivation of individuals and communities (heart).

  • Head” refers to the importance of understanding the problem of climate change, which includes studying the scientific evidence and data that explain the causes of climate change, as well as the impact of these changes on the planet and people. This aspect also includes understanding how individuals and society contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and how this can be reduced.
  • Hands” refers to the practical steps that individuals and society can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and slow climate change. This includes various activities, such as reducing the consumption of fossil fuels, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, reducing waste and increasing recycling, promoting sustainable agriculture and nutrition, and other similar measures.
  • Heart” refers to the engagement and motivation of individuals and communities in the fight against climate change. This aspect includes spreading awareness about climate change, promoting cooperation and solidarity, and motivating individuals and society to make positive changes in behavior.

All three components of the "Head, hands and heart" method are important for solving the problem of climate change. Understanding the climate change problem (head) is important for planning and implementing practical steps (hands), while engagement and motivation (heart) are important for ensuring continued progress in the fight against climate change.
