Duration: October 2013 – February 2014

Goal of a project:

Increasing competitiveness on the labor market of unemployed persons, i.e. productivity in the current workplace of employees in Brod-Posavina County through the development and implementation of two adult education programs (Heat Treatment Operator and Project Manager) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Slavonski Brod.

Main project activities and results:

Organization of training for teaching staff called "Train the trainers"

The training included the following modules:

  • Andragogic basics and training preparation
  • Rhetoric – communication and presentation skills
  • Media didactics
  • Training management and control.
  • As a work methodology, the LENA model was applied, which is based on the principles of teamwork and training, as well as individual consultations in the preparation of the final practical work.

Organization of a workshop on the methodology of creating programs for adult education under the guidance of andragogic experts.

Since the workshop served as preparation for the development of new programs, it covered the following topics:

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations for program development
  • Compulsory components of the adult education program
  • Strategies and goals in adult education

The results:

  • Improving capacity in the adult education sector
  • Establishing and promoting partnerships and closer cooperation with employers and other stakeholders in the local labor market
  • Increasing the level of employability and competitiveness of adult education program participants

Target group of the project:

  • Representatives of unemployed and employed persons
  • Representatives of the administration and teaching staff of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Slavonski Brod
  • Representatives of employees in partner institutions
  • Representatives of employers
  • Representatives of non-governmental organizations

Callidus – Adult Education Institution had the role of coordinator of activities at the level of the entire project and the organization of activities related to adult education.
